Annual Clay County Juneteenth

Welcome to the annual Juneteenth celebration in Liberty, Missouri! This event is a joyous celebration of the rich history and culture of Clay County's Black community.

Join us for a day of food, music, and history. We'll be serving up delicious BBQ and other local specialties, so be sure to come hungry! And while you're enjoying the food, be sure to take in some of the best blues music around. Our talented musicians will be playing throughout the day, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to dance and sing along.

But Juneteenth is more than just a party - it's a day to reflect on the history of slavery and freedom in America. Throughout the event, you'll have the chance to learn about the local history and the contributions of Black Americans to the community. Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have and to share their personal stories about Liberty’s rich history.
